Eurovision reaches its seventieth anniversary next year – almost double the projected longevity of an individual in Gaza at present. The event will proceed, but it will never be able to restore the pure, unadulterated fun it was formerly known for. An institution that once promoted togetherness has transformed into a cynical way to whitewash war.
