🔗 Share this article Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Involving Thirty-Eight Patients Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor stands accused of performing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients. The Serious Allegations The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of dozens of acts of sexual assault – some of which involve some against children younger than 13 – between 2017 and 2021. A deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have diligently worked to assist a thorough and intricate investigation, meticulously examining the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.” Scope of the Investigation The charges follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley. Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th. Breakdown of Offences The charging documents outline the 45 sexual offences comprise: Fifteen counts of assault. 17 counts of penetrative assault. Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen. Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration. One count of attempted penetrative assault. Police have asked anyone with concerns to contact the investigating team.
