According to new allegations from a whistleblower, Ghislaine Maxwell, now completing a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is allegedly readying a commutation application for review by the presidential administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel announced that a source provided information indicating the inmate is working on the clemency petition. Additionally, they mentioned she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the House judiciary committee, stated in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” Maxwell with document preparation and submission to aid her effort for executive mercy.

Specific details of the clemency request are unclear, the congressman noted.

Claimed Perks and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her living area, and the warden has individually organized exclusive visits for her and her visitors.

These meetings reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which Raskin described as an “unprecedented action” given the security risk and chance of unsupervised contact.

Reportedly on one occasion, when communications failed for other prisoners, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her contacts to contact and how staff would relay the call to her.

Warden as “Personal Secretary”

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to examine and modify papers promptly, she reportedly employed the official as her private aide.

The news release states that those writing to her would email documents directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and return them to the warden to digitize and send to the initial correspondent.

Extra Benefits Reported

Other privileges reportedly provided to her include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a benefit typically prohibited – as well as private after-hours access to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “does not comment” on potential clemency requests.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has considered,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that she told friends and family in emails from prison that she was “much happier” at the Texas facility than her previous prison.

In August, she was moved from a secure facility in Tallahassee, Florida to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are serving time for non-violent offenses and white-collar crimes.

This move, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just shortly following she was interviewed about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation by the senior justice official, the official, who also once acted as Donald Trump's private attorney.

This questioning came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to release more documents related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the disgraced financier and convicted sex offender, who was found dead in a New York jail in that year while facing trial on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the whistleblower’s allegations, and urged the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“It would be inappropriate to approve any form of clemency to this adjudicated and remorseless criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with personal amenities, with canine interaction, with government agents waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

Raskin requested that the official attend a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to the President.

He inquired whether Trump had talked about a potential commutation for the convict with Blanche or others, whether he had directed him or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the move or favorable and preferential treatment in prison, and whether Maxwell, her attorneys, family or agents have made any commitments to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a reply to the questions by 24 November.
