Soccer Analyst Sutton Battles Singer Murs in Premier League Predictions

Arsenal's ten-match winning streak was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global break, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, fans and a variety of special visitors.

For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled soccer player as well as a successful singer and has been a star of several Soccer Aid matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a footballer.

"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a mate of mine," he said. "My side was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or son chooses to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't force football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday soccer side," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a kid, which is likely where I get it from. He coached our side for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to wait a bit longer for their star's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Liam Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be quite close, however. The Clarets are well organised and their sole home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

West Ham's sole on the road win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was previously Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I think what occurred against Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have improved under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign began, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

A family member told me to get Brentford forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely score again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had great success on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at their stadium. Brentford will attempt to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's prediction: It could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six matches.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation fight.

As for Sunderland, well they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

The away side's display in the two-all draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice to do to back the visitors here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the close of October.

However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I really need to continue opposing Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the only side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be absolutely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I'm aware Sunderland are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who profit from the {international break|
