Ukrainian authorities have declared the start of mass production for an innovative locally engineered interceptor drone to enhance its air defences. The first three producers have started manufacturing, with an additional eleven preparing to establish assembly lines, Ukrainian military officials announced on Friday.

'Octopus' Technology Proven in Battlefield Situations

These UAVs will be based on a nationally created technology called “Octopus” designed to neutralize Shahed drones. The system underwent testing in actual battle and proved successful “during nighttime, under jamming and flying low,” officials stated. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy established a target of manufacturing up to 1,000 interceptors each day.

Recent Attack on the Capital Characterized as Calculated

Volodymyr Zelenskyy described Moscow's most recent assault against Ukraine as “deliberate, calculated and wicked” after six individuals were killed and many others injured in a series of nocturnal attacks across Kyiv. Ukraine’s general staff stated its military had fired Neptune cruise missiles and used multiple kinds of strike drones in the assault against Novorossiysk “as part of operations to diminish the military and economic potential of the invading force.”

Ukrainian forces separately struck a processing plant in the Saratov area and an energy depot in the adjacent Engels region overnight.

International Sanctions Impact Moscow's Energy Company

Russia’s second-largest oil producer Lukoil said on Friday it is negotiating with potential buyers regarding its international holdings after last month’s sanctions from the UK and the US and failure of a deal with the Gunvor trading house. “Final arrangements are to be disclosed once the final agreements have been reached and required authorizations have been obtained,” Lukoil commented.

Zelenskyy Schedules Visit to Spanish Capital

Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to travel to the Spanish capital, Madrid, next Tuesday to confer with lawmakers a day after his visit to Paris, Spanish parliamentary officials announced. The Ukrainian president will convene with deputies from all houses of the legislature throughout his stay, an official announcement confirmed.
