Digital Channels Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors are posting online saying Vinted listings now show an altered size classification versus the original listing because of the remapping. The platform stated the new system was more in line with other platforms. The platform has recommended to review their products and update the measurements by hand where appropriate, causing user dissatisfaction. Size Classification Modifications Earlier, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, for instance S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range such as S/UK 8-10. In some cases, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was formerly size 12 but is now a UK 16-18. User Stories Frankie Bridger, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, explained the modification "makes transactions more difficult". "Few clothing companies classify XL as 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. A different member, located in Scotland, explained products she uploaded on Vinted with size 14 labels were showing in the marketplace as larger sizing 20-22. "If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she explained. Required Changes Another shopper, located in England, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the measurements for "each individual item". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and selling on Vinted has been paramount following partial earnings loss," she said. Platform Context The platform boasts over 100 million members, including 18 million in the UK. It has proved a popular alternative versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop.
